48 Hours of Sick, Powerless Ick

Oof. I am so glad the last 48 hours are done and over with! Like many others in my home state, I’ve spent the past two days without any power. It sucked. Especially because I’ve also been sick and battling a fever. I’m still a stuffed up, groggy shambling wreck of a human being right now, but at least the power finally came on!

Due to the lack of power, I’ve got A LOT of catching up to do on my Necro Rhino writing challenge. I had no access to my files of work, and thus lost 48 hours of precious, precious writing time. 😥

One good thing was I got a lot of reading time in though, and had (during daylight hours at least) the magical worlds of science fiction, fantasy, and horror to entertain me.

I also had some crazy ass fever dreams. I won’t go into all of them, but one had me as a blood-soaked Mary, Queen of Scots. I had some pretty damn sweet dresses though, so at least there was that. (Again with that morbid optimism.)

Anywhoo, back to writing. I’ve got much catching up to do! Hopefully if any of you are without power you get it again soon! ❤

    1. Thank you. ❤ I still feel lousy, but the fever part is done now. Now I'm just horribly congested and drained feeling. But the power is back so it's still 100 times better than it was. 🙂 I live in Michigan, so a lot of the people in my state had lost power. Sounds like more and more have gotten it back since then though, so that's good. 😀

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Yeah, it’s been a rough last couple of days but I’m just so glad to have power again. lol It makes being sick so much more bearable.
      Yeah, it was indeed a very odd dream. I have no idea what caused it. I’m sort of known for really crazy dreams though. CupcakesandMachetes is always hounding me to start a dream journal to document them. lol

  4. Aww, I’m happy that the power is back on and hopefully you will get better soon! Mary, Queen of Scots huh, sounds like you’re itching to catch up on Reign (well that or you want to cut someone’s head off) lol. Feel Better!

  6. I heard about his from CaM! Was there a bad storm or something? That is the worst that you lost so much precious writing time and were sick, too? Ugh, I’m sure lack of heat did not help you in that regard at all. I’m glad the power gods saw fit to show some mercy and return you to the light. May you catch up with your word count soon, too!

    1. Thank you! 🙂 Yeah, a lot of our home state lost power due to really high, violent winds. Tons of people without power, no traffic lights, trees blown over, it was pretty nuts. The lack of heat was really rough while sick. I donned layers upon layers upon layers and was still cold, while having a fever. Bleh! Not being able to write was still the worst part though! 😛 Now it’s time to play catch up.

      1. Omg that’s awful 😦 We’re supposed to get hit with a huge snowstorm this Tuesday, too. I hope you’re not also in the path of that. I know you and Cupcakes and M are in the Great Lake area (I think), which is known for it’s lake effect snow. I’m in PA and they’re talking about 11-18 inches :O I’m lucky I can work from home if it’s like that, but I’m hoping we don’t have to deal with outages either. I’m glad you’re doing better now. That’s the worse, and I agree, the not being able to right would just make me feel worse. At least you could’ve had the one saving grace while sick :\

      2. Oh, no! :O I hope you guys get spared some of that snow you’re expecting this week and it doesn’t wind up being too bad. I know we’re supposed to get snow here in Michigan this week too, but I’m not sure just how much it is supposed to be. That’s so nice that you can at least work from home if the weather gets bad enough. Much safer than going out when the weather gets that bad. Best of luck to you with the upcoming weather!

      3. It’s started D: They’re saying it’s supposed to continue snowing until Wednesday morning so I may not be going into work then either. I just hope we keep power, since I won’t be able to do much with a charged laptop and no wireless router. These March storms are often worse than January/February!

  7. Sorry to hear you haven’t been well my friend, hope you are feeling better. No power!? how awful, I don’t what I would do without my video-games and internet!! read more comics I guess (mmmmm, now actually that doesn’t sound so bad) Have a fabulous weekend 🙂
