100 Follows and a Healthy Necro Rhino

Just popping in for a couple weekend updates.

Update #1: Big thanks to all of you awesome people who have made this blogging experience such a joy. I’ve just reached 100+ followers and I’m really thankful for it and for all of the wonderful folks I’ve met here and had such great chats with. ❤ I think we have such a great community of bloggers here, and it’s been so much fun sharing thoughts and ideas with you guys. ❤ ❤ ❤

Update #2: The Necro Rhino Writing Challenge is getting pretty close to completion. By the end of March 30th I’m really hoping to have at least 50,000 words written for the rough draft of the story I’m working on. That was the goal I set, to complete 50,000 words in 30 days, and so far so good. 🙂 I just passed the 40,000 word mark this morning, so I’ve got 5 days to write the remaining 10,000. That means I need to write 2,000 words per day and I think that’s totally doable. 🙂 Keep it up, Necro Rhino! So many words to be written and brains to be eaten. It’s gonna be a busy 5 days.

  6. That lemon dude tearing his clothes off always induces hysterical laughter in me, and I have NO IDEA what cartoon he’s even from lol.

    Congratulations on 100 followers! I’m so happy to be counted amongst them, and I’m super happy you’ve been good about feeding your Necro Rhino his daily dose of words. 2k words a day is totally doable. I believe in you! Caffeine is a necessity for this. I have no idea what writers would do without it. The world would be a far more boring place if we didn’t have our magic beans.

    1. Aw, thank you so much! ❤ Yes, caffeine is like sweet, glorious nectar from the gods for writers. 😛
      Haha And I love that gif too. 😛 It's from the show Adventure Time. His name's Lemongrab and he's always freaking out and screaming. lol
      Oh, speaking of cartoons, I've been meaning to tell you that I've finally started watching some of Steven Universe! We'd talked about it before a while back and I've been hunting it down and watching it when I can. You were right, it's sooo good!!

      1. Oh really?? I watch Adventure Time! I guess I just forgot about him. I need to catch up. I think I’m in season 2 or something like that. Kisscartoon.me is currently down, and it’s how I watch it, but I could use the back up. I think only the first season is on Netflix.

        Omg Steven Universe…it is so good. Where are you with you? They update so sporadically. You’ll see nothing for months, and then there will be a “Steven bomb,” and you have five to ten new episodes to watch. Rose Quartz is my absolute favorite character. I want to cosplay her so badly.

        I’ve seen a few sporadic episodes of various seasons, but I’ve seen the first seven episodes of season 1. I need to really get back at watching them in order once I’m done with this current writing binge and have more time. 🙂
        I’m behind on Adventure Time, too! Since it gets heavier and heavier as the show goes I feel like I’ve missed so much now.
        Cartoons are the best. I love ’em!

      3. Oh my yes, then we can discuss them. SU is similar to Adventure Time in that it gets heavier as it goes along. I know that with AT you eventually find out that Marceline and the Ice King knew each other when he was still human, and it’s super deep. I mean the fact that they live in a post apocalyptic world after the “mushroom war” where part of the planet is blown off is pretty dark to begin with, but they hide that darkness in a children’s cartoon. I love that animation/cartoons are being considered a serious medium now, though oddly enough they weren’t originally created for kids! The old Looney Tunes shorts were for adults, but then some time in the last thirty years, it became a kids’ medium, but now it’s becoming for adults again.

      4. Yeah, it’s crazy how people get certain things in their heads like “cartoons are for kids” or “pink is for girls” when originally it was quite the opposite for both. People are such funny creatures how we pigeon hole ourselves with certain stigmas and then wind up turning the tables on ourselves decades later.

Yuuup, pink used to be considered a more “manly” color because it’s the color of blood/innards whereas blue is more passive so it was “for girls.” It also used to be illegal for men to show their nipples lol. What a world. I try to explain to people how so many things we think are “just the way it is” are totally arbitrary and based on “what’s cool” at the time.

  11. Congratulations! You’re blog is awesome and I love talented individuals. Your blogs are great, your art is amazing and your positivity is astounding! Thank you for being a great person! I have to say seeing Tina from Bob’s Burgers brightened my day on this post and of course Lemon Garb is hilarious. Well deserved on the 100 followers milestone and I’m sure that you will continue to add many more to your following… even if I have to start lassoing other bloggers and dragging them down to this saloon of intrigue! (How do you make the smiling devil emoji :D).

    Also, I would like to say that next month in April, I will start a writing challenge thanks to your inspiration! I have barely touched my story since starting the blog as if it had the black plague or worse COOTIES! So now I will make it a priority to make sure to write something on each and will use the writing challenge to keep me on task so another THANK YOU is in order lol. Ok well I’m off to work, enjoy your Sunday!

      I am so excited that you've been inspired to do your own writing challenge! That's amazing. ^_^ Best of luck to you with it! I know you can do it. Reading advice for the official NaNoWriMo challenge people do each November really helped me get in the mindset this time around. I had failed so hard when I'd attempted NaNoWriMo last November so that helped fuel a lot of this attempt's determination, I think. 🙂 I can't wait to hear how your own challenge goes.
