Hey, guys! Just popping in for some quick updates!
As last month came to an end I posted about some of the book options I had proposed for June’s book club meeting I’ll be hosting. Things got nuts after that. lol A tie breaker vote had to be done and it was so close even then that we nearly wound up split right down the middle for a second time! There was joking about bribery with cupcakes and cookies among the book club ladies because they were so adamant that their book choice won. All the chaos eventually settled and we finally had a winner . . . The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu!
Ooh, and some exciting news . . . I recently won my first ever book giveaway!! 😀 And it was even right here on WordPress! If you haven’t ventured on over to The Book-Filled Day yet, I’d say you should rectify that and check it out. 😉 It’s all books all the time over there so what’s not to love? I entered their giveaway for the Glimmers series and was so pleasantly surprised to discover that I’d actually won it! From what I’ve read about the series it’s a witty and fun series full of magic about a young fairy godmother in training.
I’m so very excited to have won, and to get to read this series soon, so a massive thank you to The Book-Filled Day and to the author of the series, Emma Savant! ❤ Seriously, I never win anything, so this was really exciting! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
In other reading news, I just finished the second volume of DC Bombshells, so I’ll be posting a proper review of that soon. 🙂 I’ve got a couple canvas prints from this series on my wall, but I want to hunt down more of them the more I read this series. The ones I have are of Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, but I’d love to find some of the other ladies as well, especially Batwoman! 😀
Oh, and I started watching the new American Gods TV series based off the Neil Gaiman novel. I’m only two episodes in, but I’m liking it so far. There’s still a lot of questions at this point, but that’s just fine by me. 🙂 It’s weird as hell so far too, and that is also just fine by me.

I started watching Arrow recently. Only a couple of episodes in but it seems alright. I’m really over house stuff consuming ALL of my free time though. I’m going to be so fucking lazy when we move!! (I say this but then I’ll have a backyard to play in all summer…)
I need to go look up sources for book club book!

I’ve never heard of the Glimmer series. Just put it on my tbr, it looks so good!!
I want to watch American Gods so badly, but it’s about to become exam season in 2 weeks and I’m trying to finish my last assignments! I can’t wait to finish uni – I have so many shows ready to be binge-watched lol 😀

First, I need to read The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu! I mms mean that title… Second, congrats on your win! I hope you enjoy the books. I love the covers. Ideal glad you’re enjoying American Gods. Sadly I don’t subscribe to Starz, but it is my favorite Gaiman novel. I’m wrapping up with all my favorite tv shows’ season finales. And I just finished my first Laini Taylor book, Strange the Dreamer, which was all kinds of wonderful, even though the end made me tear up. I need to read her Daughter of Smoke and Bone series ASAP!

Congratulations! It’s always exciting to win something (btw those books look cook, can’t wait to hear what you think of them). The book covers look great as well. I’m glad that May has been going well for you (what’s that saying about April Showers bringing May Flowers?). Seems like you’re in full bloom at the moment. Oh yea, the book you’ve selected looks really cool can’t wait to hear about it as well.
American Gods… my co worker keeps insisting that I watch it but I have NO TIMEEEEEEE lol I feel like the bunny from Alice In Wonderland always on the go with my pocket watch. I will get around to it but I’m happy that someone I trust (being you because my co worker is crazy lol) enjoys it as well!

Haha, I know what you mean, it’s hard finding the time for everything we want/need to do. The days are just never long enough. Dang that constant need for sleep! lol It’s like flushing eight hours right down the drain.

Ha! That’s so funny that we have the same WW canvas. Mine came as a two pack with the Harley Quinn one. I don’t know if you have any Meijer grocery stores near you but they surprisingly have a lot of really good comic book related artwork for sale all the time. A pretty good range of characters, too.

Sounds like a cool shop, they don’t seem to exist in the UK though unfortunately, I get most of my comic collectables through my local comic shop or our trusty HMV.

Yeah, I think it was just really bizarre timing in this case since she won hers on goodreads and I won mine here on wordpress. It’s just so odd that we both won our first ones so close together. lol
