TBT: Old B&W Comic Fan Art

Haven’t done a Throwback Thursday art post in a while, so let’s go way the hell back and check out some of my old comic-related fan art, shall we? πŸ™‚

Up first is a piece I made specifically for a contest Roman Dirge was doing for his Lenore comics. I did not win, but it was certainly a fun drawing to do.

Next, sticking with fan art for comics from SLG publishing, here’s a couple different characters from the comic series Gloomcookie.

Aaaaand last but not least, is Harley Quinn. I’ve been a fan of Harley for a long time, so of course she was bound to pop up here and there when I was looking through some of my older drawings. πŸ™‚

As a TBT post would imply, these are all pretty old drawings, but I personally enjoy looking back on the old stuff, flaws and all, just to remember what I enjoyed drawing at that point in my life and to see how my style has changed and evolved over the years. πŸ™‚ All of these were done with pencil, pen, and sharpie, my old go-to tools of the trade!

    1. Aw, thanks! Yeah, Lex was always one of my fave characters from the comic. πŸ™‚
I’ll definitely be posting more drawings next month because I’ve decided to do some drawings of bad ass ladies of history for Cupcake’s celebration for Women’s History Month.
Aaaaaand I just sent you an e-mail! πŸ˜€

  1. I love these so much! I have a thing with ink drawings, obviously ❀ and I absolutely adore your line art! I know very few people who draw and have really thick outlines and I love how it fits your art style so well!

    1. Aw, thank you! ❀ Yeah, ink drawings are so much fun. One of these years I'm actually going to participate in Inktober. I always love seeing what everyone else posts for it, so maybe this year is gonna be the one I actually participate. πŸ™‚ And thanks for what you said about the thick outlines. I've always liked really bold lines for some reason, so that's good to hear! πŸ˜€ And I absolutely love your art as well! ❀

      1. Yesss! Inktober is stressful but really really fun! If you’re ever gonna do it, let me know! 😊
I love all kinds of lineart but there’s a really special place in my heart for really bold outlines! ❀

      2. Yeah, it’s insane that’s for sure. lol It’s exciting too though, so it’s kind of a special sort of madness with it. Definitely worth trying though, in my opinion! πŸ˜€ Let me know if you decide to do it this year. I’d definitely be rooting you on! That’s one of the fun things about it, too, is the support of all the other participants. You get to see each other pass milestones and offer advice and support to one another. πŸ™‚
