Deadpool 2 Review

deadpool2

Jeez, it’s been almost a week already since I went to see this movie, and my slacker ass is only just NOW writing up a review post for it. Shame, shame on me. Saturday was a day full of fun which included a friend’s birthday party hosted by none other than the fabulous Cupcakes and Machetes, A Mario Kart 64 tournament (that I won!), a trip to the hellish labyrinth full of people (and possibly a Minotaur) that is Ikea, aaaaand a morning jaunt to the movie theater to see DEADPOOL 2! 😀

Based off how much I loved the first Deadpool film it’s safe to say that I went into this one with expectations. HIGH expectations. Luckily, those expectations were nothing short of met with the second installment. I greatly enjoyed myself while watching this film. The humor, action, character interactions, cameos, etc. had me thoroughly entertained from beginning to end.

It was great getting to see Deadpool and all the other characters from the first film again, and just as great to get to see characters like Domino and Cable hit the big screen. As to be expected, there are plenty of laughs in this film. The little jabs at both Marvel and DC throughout the movie were always good for a laugh.

It’s hard to get much into the plot without venturing into spoiler territory, so we’re just going to go right ahead and dodge that bullet. As the trailer lets you know, Wade is out to protect a young boy with mutant abilities from Cable who has traveled back in time to kill said kid. Stuff ensues. If you want more info than that, go see it for yourself! 😉

Even with all of the sexual innuendo, blood, dismemberment, swear words, violence, and all the other fun bits, Deadpool 2 has some serious heart to it. It’s a sequel that doesn’t fall into the seemingly endless cesspool of letdown follow-ups. Definitely would watch it again. 🙂

So, if you haven’t gone out and seen it already, I highly suggest you hop into action and go check it out.

  1. Ohhhh cool!!! I can’t wait to see it. Sadly my mates are idiots so it looks like I’ll be seeing it on my own but I don’t care!!!! Loved the first one. I was always a Batman kinda guy and then Deadpool happened and I thought I could actually be that guy haha. I think Deadpool arch nemesis should be a character called “cesspool” haha.

    1. Haha Deadpool is fantastic. I love Batman, too, though. Never been a Superman fan. Too “perfect”. Bleh! Where’s the fun in that??
Haha and I love your cesspool villain idea. It could be like a nastier more gross version of Deadpool. Like how Captain Planet had that toxic version of himself in the cartoon. 😛
I hope you get to go see Deadpool 2 soon! It’s so much fun. Definitely worth checking out in the theater. 🙂

      1. I’m hoping to see it this week coming. I used to love Captain Planet. I knew, actually I know all the words to the song too haha. The only “element” I didn’t like was HEART and it annoyed me how the little fella said it too. It sounded more like FART

      2. Haha Imagine how different the show would be if he had really been saying “Fart” instead of “Heart”. 😛 I loved Captain Planet when I was younger, too. Planeteer for LIFE! 😛

    1. Ooh, that’s a tough call. They were both so good! I honestly can’t say which I liked better. Both had so many good points. I just asked my boyfriend to see what he’d say and he said, “That’s like asking someone to pick their favorite child.” 😛

  2. I haven’t seen it yet, so I skipped the review just in case spoilers lol. Domino (I think that’s her name: black lady with the awesome fro) looks AMAZING (and I know there was backlash, because of cooooourse), and I might have a crush that will only get stronger when I see the movie 😀

    1. No worries! 😀 I try to keep my reviews pretty spoiler-free, but I should have put a “No Spoiler” tag in the title, now that you mention it. 🙂
I loved Domino. ❤ Your crush will most definitely get stronger when you see the movie. 😉
