Jeez, I can’t believe how FAST this month has been going by! I feel like it’s come and nearly gone so quickly already. It’s been a ridiculously busy month, but a mostly good (and extremely productive) one at least. I’ve been working on a lot of too-boring-to-bother-blogging-about-but-necessary-things in my life, so yay for that, but I’ve missed all my blogging buddies. ❤
Sooooo, since it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been able to really post anything *COUGH COUGH it’s been over two whole weeks but who the hell is counting COUGH* let’s just go ahead and cover a few quick updates, shall we? 🙂
BLAH #1: So far this month I was able to squeeze some reading time in despite how busy things have been. I got to read some other works by authors I’ve read and enjoyed previously, like George RR Martin’s The Ice Dragon, Emilie Autumn’s short story The Gown, and I FINALLY (after several years) read the third book in Laini Taylor’s The Daughter of Smoke and Bone series Dreams of Gods & Monsters. I also binge-read volumes 2, 3, and 4 of The Girl from the Other Side and finished reading the last of The City of Lost Fortunes by Bryan Camp. Some of the reads I liked more than others, some I found to be surprisingly not as enjoyable as I’d thought they’d be. We’ll save all that for other posts when I finally get my slacker ass around to reviewing some of the things I’ve been reading lately. 😛
BLAH #2: I’ve got a current series of shark illustrations I’ve been working on for some upcoming Shark Week posts, so expect an explosion of shark-related blog content from me starting this Sunday. I’ll also be babbling on about shark facts throughout the week because sharks are awesome and learning shit is rad.
BLAH #3: Kind of random, but if you haven’t watched Jim Jefferies: This Is Me Now comedy special on Netflix you probably should rectify that. It’s hilarious. (Unless you are easily offended. Then maybe stay faaaar away from it.)
BLAH #4: Does anyone on here use Audible? I just wonder because I was offered a 2 month free subscription for it for a membership to something else I recently signed up for. I’m wondering what anyone out there that has tried it thinks of it. Is it worth the money? Listening to audio books can be really useful when your schedule is extremely busy. Multitask or bust, am I right? 😉
Anywhooooo, that’s enough from me. It’s past 1 in the morning and I’m honestly stunned that I’m even still awake and functioning at this point. How are things in your corner of the world? Any exciting BLAHs of your own you’d like to share? Have a great weekend, everybody! ❤
You said ‘Rad’ in an actual sentence… I love you for that 🙂

This paid summer internship has kept me so “busy” that I’m on my 8th book in under 2 months, all read entirely on the clock.

It feels longer than two weeks which must mean I’ve missed you and your posts hehe. That reminds me I need to send you the girl from the other side miniature thing I made. I’ll try and do it this week. Two things hinder me I’m forgetful and ummm I forget number two reason. I find Jim Jeffries hit and miss but I’ll give that particular special a go. I’d strongly urge you to give alllllll if Bill Burrs gear a go. He’s my new favourite closely followed by Jimmy Carr. Jimmy Carr is the king of offensive jokes!!!! Stay cool man 🤘🏼

Aww, thank you! You and your awesome blog were missed as well! 😀
Haha and I totally understand the forgetfulness thing as I, too, am exceedingly forgetful. To-Do Lists are my saving grace. I would be a lost mess without them. 😛
My boyfriend and I have watched Bill Burr and enjoyed it, but I don’t think either of us have seen Jimmy Carr so we’ll have to give that a go. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m good at remembering code, phone numbers and dates but I’ll forget to bring my lunch box in from the truck every day haha

I’m so happy to see your post on my feed again aaaaaaaaa
The Girl from the Other Side looks interesting! And is she wearing plague doctor’s mask?? I look forward to read about what you think of Dreams of Gods and Monsters 😊
Also, I remember your posts for Shark Week last year vaguely, it was too bad I didn’t get to read them because I was so busy. But I’m gonna rectify that next week! Excited for your illustrations and awesome shark facts 😄

Aw, thank you so much! Yay, I’m so happy to hear from you, too! 😀 I hope all has been well and that you’re doing great. ❤
The Girl From the Other Side is a really interesting and quaint little read. It's just so sweet and adorable in its own way, despite their being monsters and a mysterious plague present. 🙂 The one that looks like he is in a mask is actually one of the people who is infected from the plague that turns people into monsters. He's an exceptionally polite monster, though. 😉
And thank youuuuu. ❤ I'm so glad you're excited for the Shark Week posts.

If you try Audible, you HAVE to tell me what you think. I’m obsessed with my couple of podcasts now but am still interested in the possibility of doing audible books. I’m also slightly horrified to try it because I don’t particularly like having things read to me. CANNOT WAIT FOR SHARK STUFF-GET TO IT NOW!

I will definitely be sure to do that if I wind up giving it a go! 🙂
I think it can be rough having people read to you if they are boring about it. Some narrators from the few audio books I’ve listened to are definitely better (and more entertaining) than others. And yay, glad you’re pumped about the Shark Week fun. 😀

Hah, learning stuff is rad – Looking forward to the shark posts! Thanks for the tip with Jim Jefferies, too, will have to add that to my list on Netflix!
I’ll also second that thought – WTF happened to July?! No, WTF happened to the first half of this year?!?!
Caz xx

Haha I have books I’ve been meaning to read for years now on both my kindle and bookshelf, too. And yet I still buy new ones before reading the old ones! 😛
