Woo! If you see a bunch of fireworks lighting up the night sky tomorrow night, no need to be surprised. They’re clearly in celebration of my blog’s fourth birthday! π
With social distancing the new norm these days, what better celebration than an online celebration? And who better to party with than all the amazing blogging buddies I’ve made these past four years?? β€
So, how are we celebrating? I thought I’d try something interesting and get some creative input from you guys. π After all, there’s no way I would have stuck around this long blogging if it weren’t for all you amazing people that make up the WP community. β€ Since the 4th of July officially marks my 4 year blogiversary, I figured I’d have each of you who want to participate give me 4 bits of inspiration for drawing, and that I could post the illustrations I come up with based off your individual input. So, here are my 4 questions posed to whoever is game to play. (No pressure!) All you have to do is leave me a comment with your answers to the following 4 questions and I’ll (eventually in the near-ish future) draw pieces that you helped inspire. So, let’s get onto it, shall we?
My Questions For YOU:
1.) What is your favorite mythical creature?
2.) If you lived in a fantasy or science fiction story, what sort of occupation would you want to have?
3.) What is your favorite character from a well-known fairy tale, fable, or legend?
4.) What real-life animal do you find to be the strangest-looking?
I hope you liked the questions I posed for you guys and that you will join in on the fun and leave your input. When I draw something based off your answer(s) I’ll post it here on my blog and leave a link to your blog in thanks for the inspiration you gave. Like I said, I just thought it would be fun to try a little something different.
Thanks again to each and every one of you who has kept me coming back time and time again over the past 4 years. I hope you all have a great weekend, and Happy 4th of July to those of you who celebrate it! β€
Yay! Congratulations on your fourth anniversary my friend! Doesn’t time fly, the Precinct actually hit its sixth anniversary last week too!! Keep up the awesome blogging and astonishing artwork, and here’s to another 4 years… and beyond! π Oh, almost forgot – 1. Always been partial to Pegasus as far as mythical creatures are concerned. 2. Why forsooth, Paladin Knight is my preferred choice of occupation in a fantasy world methinks. 3. Mmmm, difficult one, probably Beowulf, the classic Olde English poem that I first discovered during my English literature course at University (The CGI movie with Ray Winstone and Angelina Jolie is a personal fave too!) 4. Anteaters, odd but rather cool creatures indeed! π

Aww happy four years love, that’s awesome. So I reckon we have been blog buddies for about that long then hehe. I can’t even remember how I found you? Maybe I typed, into the search thingy, comics or zombies or something. So glad I found you and Miss Cupcakes too. You two are the coolest. Ok onto he questions…
1. Usually I’d say Zombie but when I read the word “Mythical” It made me think of my favourite creature from when I was a kid which was a Minotaur. I had a toy one and one of the first jokes I ever remember saying to my folks was, “Look he’s Buffalo Bill” haha
2. Clearly I’d be an anti-hero mercenary of some description haha.
3. As I’ve always preferred bad guys/girls in stories I’ll have to go for the one that scared me the most as a kid and that’s the Troll who lived under the bridge in the Three Billy Goats Gruff story. I was scared to cross bridges as a kid after that haha.
4. I’ll have to go with that Greenland shark we were talking about recently. From a distance it looks like a normal shark but up close it’s so strange looking and it’s blind eyes gives me the creeps.
I enjoyed this hehe. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for me and for everybody else who has got involved. Happy 4th of July and Happy Anniversary. xx

Aww, thanks so much! ^_^ I’m so glad our paths crossed too! And yeah, haha, a search for zombies or comics sounds about right. π
I love the thought you put into your answers. Maybe I’ll draw a zombie Minotaur to blend your favorite creatures! π
And yesss, trolls are so damn scary! Haha They’ve always creeped me out so much!
Aaaand it’s always good to see the Greenland Shark getting some appreciation! They’re so friggin’ cool!
Thanks for joining in on my blog festivities. As always, it’s super appreciated! β€

Happy 4 years! π That’s such a huge accomplishment. β€οΈ
1. Probably dragons. They have always interested me the most!
2. Most likely a type of scholar.
3. The first one that came to my mind was Merlin from the Arthurian legends. So I’m going with him!
4. The blob fish, it’s just so weird looking.

Whoohoo! Congratulations on four years! That’s always exciting π Ahh, I love these questions. Let’s see…
1. Oh man…I see this question a bunch, and I never know what to say. I don’t think angels count as mythical creatures lol. I used to have a list of all of the ones I could think of because I’d get bored in class when I was in high school, but I have no clue where that list is now. Probably vampires, though I feel like they count more as people, but they’re still mythical so counts?
2. Free lance assassin. I know…it sounds so bloodthirsty, but I’d be freelance so I could choose what jobs I’d take, and best believe I’d only kill people who deserved it >:)
3, Hades and Persephone are kinda my power couple, but only in more fandom based versions of them since the original story has some, uh, not so great implications. Fanon H and Seph are some major inspiration for my own OTP.
4. So many bugs *shivers* but for non bugs, giraffes are prettty damn ridiculous. I was thinking the platypus, but I feel like that’s the go to π

Haha Thank you so much!! β€ I love your answers. π
I love Hades and Persephone as well, but like you said, the less messed up versions. π I can't remember if we've talked about this or not, but have you ever read Lore Olympus? It's a web comic that is like a modern retelling of them and it is fantastic. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. π

No, but I’m adding it now! I have plans to write a retelling of them that’s definitely not a messed up version. I’m a sucker for a good Death and the Maiden motif, tho.

Also, I would LOVE to read your retelling of Persephone and Hades omg! π

I didn’t realize it was a web series! When I looked on Amazon it wasn’t by the same person then I found and bookmarked it.
Omg I need to show you the picture that inspired this idea.

I was thinking of making him something like the Winter King/Angels of Death and she’s like the Bride of Spring/Flowers. I don’t know all the details yet, but I freaking love that kind of dichotomy. He winds up finding her passed out like that for some reason and takes her back to his Underworld castle. Oh shit I actually have notes on this lol. THIS is why I take notes because I’ll forget. I was going to make it a land of always winter because Hades is the Winter Kind, but where Persephone lives it’s spring so she’s beloved. Someone tries to kidnap her to make it spring in THEIR land, and either Hades rescues her or finds her after she’s escaped and passed out, and he was already kind of wondering why this one land resisted winter or something. Idk now I’m just babbling :p

Oof! Yessss! I love that picture. I’ve seen it before and it is such a beauty! β€
Love the ideas your brewing for your H/P project! π
And yes, you can read all of Lore Olympus right on WEBTOON. π It's so addicting that you can just blow right through the episodes one right after another. lol
