April 2021 Art Update

What time is it? Art Update Time! πŸ™‚ I have an amazingly kind friend at work who let me borrow her fancy IPad recently to practice some digital illustrating on something different than my current art tablet set up I have, and damn, did I ever enjoy myself! ❀

I’ve been watching/reading a lot of Attack on Titan lately, so I could hardly resist drawing some AoT Fan Art while I was at it. And where better to start, than with Captain Levi?

While I was drawing badasses from AoT, it only made sense to draw some Mikasa. It was also a nice practice at shadows/lighting. Definitely a far cry from perfect, but it felt good to be practicing. ❀

Playing around with shadows made me want to play around with some different shapes and colors which resulted in the dragon pictured below.

Practicing with digital art again feels so rewarding. I love learning new techniques and pushing myself out of my comfort zone more. What things have you been learning and/or working on lately? Who else watched the first half of the final season of AoT? I absolutely looooved it. I can’t wait to see how it all ends come winter when the final episodes are released. πŸ˜€

  1. Absolutely beautiful! My oldest daughter does digital illustrations and it’s unbelievable. I’ve gotten on her iPad with the Apple pen and it’s like a different world. Glad you were able to have some fun with it. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you so much! ❀
That's awesome that your daughter is doing digital illustrations. And I agree, that Apple pen is otherworldly for drawing for sure. It draws/writes so smooth and precise. Sounds like your daughter has the perfect setup for her art. She must be loving it! πŸ˜€

    1. Hahaha That sums it up perfectly, because they have definitely SEEN some things! πŸ˜›
It’s a really good series, even for people who don’t normally watch anime. Lots of monstrous things going on with the titular Titans, but also lots of political intrigue among the human characters too. I recently re-watched the first season and was blown away by how much actually goes down. I know you recently mentioned your horror movie binges, so Attack on Titan might be right up your alley! πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you so much! ^_^
I’m ready to start either volume 23 or 24 next for AoT, can’t remember which, but man, are things sooo intense. lol I love reading it and I’m about where the anime has left off til the last episodes come out this coming winter, so I’m really curious to read what the show hasn’t covered yet. Happy Reading to you! πŸ˜€
