Winter, GTFO!

Uggghhhhhhhh . . . *groans and rolls around in blankets until burrito formation is properly achieved* . . . I don’t wanna get out of bed and go out into the stupid white wonder that is winter. I hates it. I just hates it so damn much.

I’ll admit, I’m currently lucky enough to have a job that calls everyone off for snow days when the weather is deemed bad enough. That was the case on Monday and I have been frantically checking and re-checking my work e-mails and the school district’s closings this morning to see if that would somehow be the case again today. Thus far, no luck. -_-

That means it’s nearly time for me to grumble my way out of bed and put on non-pajama clothes (seriously, the worst kind). Meh! Fuck pants! I just wanna use my blanket like a superhero cape and keep my fuzzy penguin PJ’s on forever.

Sorry, but this post is pretty much just an ode to the suckage that is winter. If you live somewhere right now where you have to shovel, scrape, and bundle up but still manage to have snow soak through your shoes/boots to leave the house, I’m pretty sure you probably understand.

If you stuck around and read my little tantrum, thanks for letting this girl vent a little. ❤ I’m a firm believer in the power of venting/ranting/letting it all out when you need to. Hopefully spring will offer its sweet, warm embrace soon. 🙂

A Beautiful June Day

Well, this weekend came and went pretty quickly if you ask me. Heck, this year is going by pretty quickly, too. Can you believe we’re already six months in? Madness, I tell you!

It was such a beautiful day today that I decided to take some photos of all that lovely outdoorsy goodness! 🙂

June7

Found this cute little bumble buddy bro-ing about on the peonies that just recently bloomed. He didn’t seem to mind me capturing the moment as he pollinated around. Maybe he’s an exhibitionist. Who am I to judge?

Check out all that leaf lettuce looking all scrumptious. Can’t wait to start eating it all up. Awesome for salads and great on sammiches. ❤

I was really hoping to get a picture of the baby robins to share with you guys but they’ve gone and left the nest already. I even checked around below the nest to make sure they hadn’t fallen out or anything. It makes sense, they’d gotten pretty big, but last I saw they still had some of those Bernie Sanders tufts of white fuzz on them, so I thought they’d be sticking around a little longer. So, sorry, you guys just get a pic of the empty nest. :/

June3

Some of the other peonies. It’s kind of hard to tell, but they’re a really light pink and light cream color, but they mostly look white in the photos.

June2

We’ve got tons and tons and TONS of these pretty white flowers. Seriously, this is only a small sampling of them.

Again, this is just a bit of them, but it goes to show how many little clusters of them there are in a small area. They’re pretty lovely when you get the whole view of them all.

So, those are my outdoors pics I thought I’d share with you guys. Hope you’re all having a great weekend with just as nice of weather wherever you might be. ❤

Magnolia Tree

Hey, guys! ❤ Just sharing some baking and outdoors photos. This weekend was pretty busy but I managed to squeeze in some yard work and baking. The weather’s been so nice that I even did the little reading I could get in outdoors. (I’m loving Six of Crows so far!!)

your-invite1

With all the holiday festivities I’m a little late on this one, but we’ll just go ahead and call it “fashionably late”. 😉

There’s a lovely Spring Blog Party going on all day (April 16) over at Scale it Simple. Head on over and join in on the fun in the comments section with your fellow bloggers. It’s a nice way to connect with others in the wordpress community and introduce yourself and your blog to others. I got to know several great people from the last blog party I took part in there and would highly recommend it.

Here are the party rules, as posted by Scale it Simple:

1. Choose one of your favorite blog posts from your own blog. Any and all kinds of posts are welcome.(Untasteful or inappropriate posts will be removed.) You can share up to three links. Wait some time in between your posts for best results.

2. Paste the link in the comment section of this post and write a little bit about yourself and/or your blog.

3. Share this party on at least one social media platform in order to invite your blogging pals. The more the merrier!

4. Now grab some chocolate, a glass of your favorite beverage and get ready to meet some new people and discover some new blogs! Read, comment, follow and share other bloggers links on your social media platforms or on your own blog.

So, that said, head on over and PARTYYYY!

Help Bees Help YOU!

Hey, you! Yeah, you! You like food, right? Well, so do bees. And bees (being the bad ass little pollinators they are) help provide us with so much of the food we eat to stay alive. Cheerios and Veseys Seeds recognize the major decline in bee colony numbers and are giving away MILLIONS of wildflower seeds for FREE to people in the U.S. and Canada to encourage people to do their part and get planting!

Cupcakes and Machetes and I have already signed up for our seeds so give into peer pressure and be sure to do it too! It’s seriously SO easy. Just click this magical link of awesomeness and get those free seeds!! 😀

Not a bad deal, right? Everyone wins. Free flowers, bees get some much-needed help, you get to enjoy some gardening when spring hits, bee colonies hopefully grow and flourish and the world gets to continue stuffing their faces with all those delicious fruits and veggies and other nutritious noms.

bees

We’re all on this planet together, and it’s up to us to take care of one another and the earth itself. Even simple little things like this make a big difference if enough of us get off our butts and do something.
